Anne Lowery was born and raised in Warren, Ohio. She worked as a police officer for almost fifteen years before returning to her alma mater, Kent State University, to earn a Masters Degree and change careers to become a reference librarian. She worked at the Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County and the Henderson Memorial Library in Jefferson, Ohio before being named Director of the New London, Ohio Public Library in 2008.
Her first book, “Rumor Has It,” about the 1974 murders of Edward and Joseph Hooker in their rural Ashland County, Ohio home was released in June of 2010 and has been a success. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her long-awaited work about the Civil War soldiers of Trumbull County, Ohio.
She is an accomplished musician and die-hard Cleveland Indians fan. Anne is a life-long student of American history, particularly the Civil War and does genealogy and historical research “for fun.”
She resides in New London with her beloved shelties Claire and Niko, and cats Molly and Abigail.
